Carolina Panthers 7-round mock draft after trading for Sam Darnold
The Panthers need some depth on the interior of the offensive line moving forward and they could potentially find a future starter at guard for them by targeting a player like David Moore in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Moore was a nasty player at Grambling State that looked to put opponents on their backs in the dirt. He can be a bit over-aggressive and needs to work on his footwork and balance at the point of attack. Having said that, his mentality and baseline traits make him a worthwhile project for Carolina to invest in.
Nothing about Tariq Thompson makes him truly stand out as he’s a respectable size and athlete but won’t wow anyone with his traits. However, he could be a valuable sub-package piece for the Panthers secondary due to the fact that he’s both versatile and does everything well. Thompson is solid in coverage when asked to drop back but is comfortable coming up into the box and playing physically. That’s great value to get at this spot and he could be an asset for Rhule on this defense.
Though Rhule coached at Baylor previously, William Bradley-King wasn’t one of his guys as he transferred in from Arkansas State for the 2020 season in Waco. But he could be a valuable pass-rushing asset as a seventh-round pick.
Bradley-King has a standup rusher’s build and is a creative and patient pass-rusher. His run defense leaves a lot to be desired but, overall, his ability could be utilized in a passing-down role for the Panthers.
