Devonta Smith. 54. Scouting Report. WR. 12. player. Pick Analysis. Alabama

(Pick via San Francisco 49ers through Miami Dolphins): This move ended up working out very well for the Philadelphia Eagles. They were part of the Miami Dolphins trade-a-thon and wound up moving back from No. 6 to No. 12 — and picked up an additional first-rounder in the process.

Now, they not only get more ammunition for the future but they still get a player that they may have been considering at No. 6 in DeVonta Smith. The 2020 Heisman Trophy winner took advantage of the opportunity afforded to him last season when Jaylen Waddle was injured and completely dominated the college football world.

Smith finished his award-winning season with 117 receptions for 1,856 yards with 23 touchdowns. And he was no one-hit-wonder either as he did this after recording 1,256 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior.

Simply put, Smith is a stud and can do it all. He wins on the short, intermediate, and deep routes. There were some concerns about his size (listed at just 175-pounds) but he never misses games and it doesn’t seem as though his frame will be an issue in the slightest.

In Philadelphia, he would be paired with Jalen Reagor who was taken in the first round last season. It would not only vastly improve the Eagles’ receiving corps, but would give Jalen Hurts the weapons he needs to be truly assessed as a starter — plus it doesn’t hurt that Smith and Hurts were teammates for two years at Alabama.
