OT. Northwestern. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 13. 13. Rashawn Slater

Rashawn Slater is going to be very good in the NFL. The former Northwestern offensive tackle is a stud and will get the job done, but the question is where he will line up in the NFL.

According to Kyle Crabbs of The Draft Network, Slater could be given an opportunity on the outside but he believes his ceiling is higher the more he moves inside.

"“Slater manned the left tackle position for the Wildcats. For teams that don’t prioritize certain measurable thresholds, he appears to be a viable candidate to do the same in the NFL—based specifically on his work against 2020 No. 2 overall pick Chase Young in pass protection. But Slater’s ceiling is likely lowest on the edge and the further into the heart of the line he transitions, the higher his potential is to become a perennial Pro Bowl player and potential All-Pro candidate in my eyes.” — Crabbs, The Draft Network"

His versatility could come in very handy with the Los Angeles Chargers, who decide to take Slater at No. 13 in this mock. They have several openings on their offensive line and could use someone such as Slater at either guard or left tackle.

Ideally, he will man the blindside since they need to keep Justin Herbert in the pocket, but it’s good to know they have options with him.
