30. Pick Analysis. Michigan. Kwity Paye. 23. player. Scouting Report. EDGE

(Pick via Seattle Seahawks): After adding Zach Wilson with the second pick in this draft, the New York Jets are back on the board with the 23rd pick in the draft. This one of the two day one picks obtained in the Jamal Adams trade which looks like a real win for New York at this point.

Now on the clock, the Jets have to decide which direction to go. They can use both another wide receiver as well as some help rushing the passer. The good news is, neither spot is as dire of a need after their moves in free agency.

New York added EDGE Carl Lawson from Cincinnati and wide receiver Corey Davis from the Titans. With them both in town, they can look for the best available player in this spot — which leads to the selection of Kwity Paye from Michigan.

Paye looks as though he was chiseled to play on the edge in the NFL at 6-4 and 277 pounds. He’s been a solid player for Michigan, recording 14.5 sacks in his past 16 games. Even so, he’s another player who seems to still be figuring things out.

He’s been improving every season with the Wolverines and has a chance to be an even better pro than he was a collegiate player. For the Jets, this could be huge as they would suddenly have two pass rushers in Paye and Lawson as new head coach Robert Saleh gets to implement his defense.
