player. Pick Analysis. EDGE. Miami. 53. Scouting Report. Gregory Rousseau. 26

For some reason, Gregory Rousseau has been a name that has fallen down some boards as of late. Surely, that has a lot to do with him not playing in 2020 because when he was last on the field, he had the makings of a top-10 pick.

For the Cleveland Browns, this ends up being good news. They come on the clock at No. 26 with only a couple of major holes left to fill which include linebacker, defensive end, and cornerback. General manager Andrew Berry is very analytical-minded so linebacker seems to be a no-go, but the Browns could go either corner or EDGE.

With the majority of the top corners off the board — other than Caleb Farley who has a medical concern which they avoid due to their own situation with Greedy Williams — Rousseau winds up being the selection.

Listed at 6-foot-5 and 260-pounds, Rousseau racked up 19.5 tackles for a loss and 15.5 sacks in 2019 before opting out of the 2020 season. What’s crazy about those numbers, is that he’s still being called raw.

That means he did this on pure athleticism. Imagine how much better he can get with the right coaching and working alongside a mentor such as Myles Garrett.

Rousseau also won’t be rushed into action thanks to the arrival of Takk McKinley, so he can work as a rotational pass rusher until the coaching staff decides it’s time to fully unleash him.
