15. Caleb Farley. 28. player. CB. Virginia Tech. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

There was one point where Caleb Farley seemed to be a lock to go in the top-15. His talent is through the roof and the scary thing is, he’s still learning to play cornerback. A converted wide receiver, Farley showed natural instincts at the position and was great in 2019 for Virginia Tech.

Then, he opted out of the 2020 season which still didn’t hurt his stock. Instead, that stock was sent downward when news broke that he was going to need to have surgery on his back. Farley said the injury happened while working out and the surgery was said to be minor.

Of course, any back injury can be tricky but he should still be ready to go by training camp. If so, some team will get a steal as he slides into the back half of this mock draft — and in this mock, that team ends up being the New Orleans Saints.

New Orleans will be in a transitional state in 2021 after seeing Drew Brees retire then giving Taysom Hill a laughable contract that guarantees nothing. If that wasn’t enough, they brought back Jameis Winston since they clearly still don’t know if their $140 million man in Hill can actually perform at a high level for 16 games (hence the no guarantees — seriously, why did Hill sign that).

At least they should be better on defense with this move, landing a potentially elite cornerback to play opposite Marshon Lattimore (assuming he gets his own legal issues sorted out that is).
