2021 NFL Mock Draft: 49ers land Mac Jones, Kyle Pitts falls to Giants

It doesn’t seem as though wide receiver is a need for the Kansas City Chiefs but they’re such a solid team that they can afford to go for the best player despite the position. Sure, they could look to enhance the offensive line which is going to look much different this season after moving on from Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz. But, they did land Joe Thuney in free agency and convinced Kyle Long to come out of retirement, shoring up the interior of their line.
On the outside, they do have high hopes for Martinas Rankin at left tackle meaning they feel comfortable for the most part. Which leads to the selection of Elijah Moore from Ole Miss.
Moore was able to line up both in the slot and on the outside and would not only replace the recently departed Sammy Watkins — but he would be a massive upgrade.
There will be those who feel as though this is a reach but the fact is, Kansas City isn’t concerned with the “consensus.” They proved that when they took Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the first round last season. He wasn’t considered the best running back, but he was the best fit for their offense.
With that being said, Moore is the same mold as Edwards-Helaire. He’s a perfect fit for what the Chiefs do and covering him and Tyreek Hill on the same field will be a nightmare for opposing teams.
