Ohio State. Justin Fields. 4. player. 44. Pick Analysis. QB. Scouting Report

Originally, it didn’t seem as though the Atlanta Falcons were going to take a quarterback at No. 4. With Arthur Smith taking over as head coach, there was some talk early on that Matt Ryan could be moved but it seems as though Smith will roll with Ryan and the remaining veterans on this roster that were discussed as potential trade bait.

Of course, anything can change still and players can still be moved, but it seems likely that Ryan will be under center in 2021. But that doesn’t mean the Falcons can’t take a quarterback and if the rumors about Mac Jones are true, they almost have to take one here.

Justin Fields has proven to be an absolute stud. He already has one of the best arms in the class and proved during his time at Ohio State that he can make all the throws. Now on top of that, he showed off his insane athleticism at his pro day, even running in the 4.4s in the 40-yard dash. That kind of speed can break a game open and Fields can turn a defensive play with great coverage into a gain in the blink of an eye.

Right now, he’s pro-ready but Atlanta will have the luxury of letting him take his time to get ready behind Matt Ryan. It would be quite the succession plan and they wouldn’t even have to give up any assets in the draft for it to come to fruition.
