With the NFL expected to relax the rules on numbers players can wear, there will be some changes this season and these five Dallas Cowboys should be among them

This offseason, the NFL is expected to make some changes to their rules, and they might actually be pretty cool.

Apparently, the Kansas City Chiefs (according to Peter King of SI.com) are running low on some numbers in the 20s and want the league to allow them more flexibility when it comes to handing out uniform numbers.

Per King, if accepted, the rule allows the following numbers to be assigned by position.

"QB, punter, kicker: 1-19. RB, TE, WR: 1-49, 80-89. DB: 1-49. LB: 1-59, 90-99. OL: 50-79. DL: 50-79, 90-99."

Of course, such a rule change would affect all 32 teams, allowing them all to hand out some numbers that weren’t previously available — and it could result in several players changing their numbers ahead of the 2021 campaign.

For the Dallas Cowboys, there are 4 players who should take advantage of this rule.

4. Tony Pollard from No. 20 to No. 1

The No. 2 running back in Big D should wear No. 1.

Tony Pollard was a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Memphis where he played as a running back — but was also lined up at times at receiver. Since joining the Cowboys, he has 890 yards rushing, 300 receiving, and eight total touchdowns.

He should be able to get more touches going forward and would look even better if he were to wear the same No. 1 for Dallas that he did with the Tigers.
