2. Ezekiel Elliott, from No. 21 to No. 15
This one feels like it would happen if the rule does pass.
Ezekiel Elliott was the No. 4 pick out of Ohio State in 2016 and quickly became the focal point of the Dallas Cowboys offense.
As a rookie, he was working behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL and led the league in rushing with 1,631 yards on the ground. He added another 363 as a receiver and finished with 16 total touchdowns.
Since then, things haven’t been as food for Elliott who still hit 1,434 yards in 2018 and 1,357 in 2019 but he didn’t seem as expolosive. Then in 2020, he was dealing with nagging injuries, a banged-up offensive line, and had more attention on him with Dak Prescott out with a broken ankle.
This led to his worst season as a pro, rushing for 979 yards and six touchdowns. Of course, with everyone expected to be healthy again, Zeke is looking to bounce back in 2021. And if his Twitter activity is any indication, he could be doing so while wearing his old No. 15 from Ohio State.
Elliott shared this photoshop with his Dallas uniform praising how good the No. 15 looks on him. And if we are being honest, it would be hard not to agree with him.
This is a change Zeke should definitely make should these rules go into effect.
