1. Dallas Cowboys

Last season, the Dallas Cowboys were the talk of the NFL after Round 1. They were on the clock at No. 17 and everyone just knew they had to add some defensive talent after losing Byron Jones and Robert Quinn in free agency.

But then, Dallas was on the clock and they did the unthinkable — they took CeeDee Lamb out of Oklahoma. Of course, no one expected the Sooners receiver to be on the board and despite having Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, Dallas knew he was too talented to pass on.

Lamb proved to be well worth the investment but the defense remained a major issue. For that reason, we are all again sure they will draft defense. That is, unless they don’t.

In fact, there are already reports that an offensive player has caught their eye — and that player is Kyle Pitts from Florida.

"“We’re hearing this thing about Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys — and the GM — being infatuated with Kyle Pitts,” Mortensen said on ESPN via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. “He’s going to have to trade up to get Kyle Pitts. He spent $40 million a year on Dak Prescott, so why not go get Kyle Pitts?”"

There’s a bit to unpack here. First is the fact that Jones’ “infatuation” doesn’t mean what many think it does. Jones has been infatuated with many prospects in the past, including Johnny Manziel and Paxton Lynch. However, the Cowboys didn’t draft those players as the rest of the front office was allowed to have their say.

Second, Pitts might not even be there at 10. He’s a talented player who could very easily go as early as No. 4 to the Atlanta Falcons or No. 6 to the Miami Dolphins.

Having said all that, Pitts is an intriguing player and if the rest of the front office shares Jones’ affinity for him, he could become the pick if he does slide to No. 10.

And again, they would be the talk of the NFL.
