The Ravens could also use some more assistance when it comes to a physical presence in the secondary, as well as a proven performer who could aid the team’s cause against the run. While the team was ranked eighth in the league in rushing defense in 2020, there were lapses at times. Of course, much of that came when defensive line standouts Brandon Williams and Calais Campbell were out of action.

Still, Don Martindale’s unit would be aided by adding safety Kenny Vaccaro, cut loose by the Titans this offseason. The veteran defender via Pro Football Focus (subscription required) logged 83 tackles, one sack and five passes defensed for Mike Vrabel’s club this past year.

Back to bolstering the pass rush. The aforementioned Matt Judon (6), Yannick Ngakoue (3) and Jihad Ward (3) combined for a dozen of the Ravens’ 39 sacks in 2020 and all are now with other teams. So could the addition of numerous veterans, perhaps all on one-year contracts, give the Ravens a pass rush by committee? There’s certainly enough qualified veterans still on the market. And of course, the team still has seven selections in April’s draft, starting with the 27th overall pick.

Melvin Ingram comes off a season in which he was limited to only seven games, 10 tackles and zero sacks with the Chargers. The market for the former first-round draft choice this offseason has been cool to date but don’t be shocked if the three-time Pro Bowler (49 sacks and 14 forced fumbles) winds up with this AFC North contender.
