NFL Draft: Re-grading every first round pick from the 2018 NFL Draft: Number 16 overall, ILB Tremaine Edmunds

At one point, the inside linebacker position was a major weakness for the Buffalo Bills. However, after picking up Tremaine Edmunds with the 16th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, their problems have been immediately solved.

It’s always special to see a young player receive his chance to start from the opening gate but it’s even more impressive when he performs without any hiccups. In his first year under the bright lights, Edmunds proved that talent evaluators should have pegged him to be an even higher pick. He was amongst the league’s best in terms of combined tackles with 121. Edmunds also stalked opposing QBs and made them pay for holding onto the ball for too long with seven QB hits.

While the ball may not be thrown in his direction a ton, he still managed to score two picks on the year. Since then, Edmunds has continually shown up when it mattered most. He has combined for 234 tackles in his Sophomore and Junior years in the league and has been rewarded with back-to-back Pro Bowl selections.

When given the chance, he pins his ears back and heads straight to the quarterback, grabbing a handful of sacks during his short time in the league. At the barely legal drinking age of 22, Edmunds is already amongst the best at his position.

Quarterback Josh Allen has received a ton of praise for turning around this Buffalo Bills franchise but Edmunds deserves his fair share of applause as well.
