NFL Draft: Re-grading every first round pick from the 2018 NFL Draft: Number 23 overall, OT Isaiah Wynn

Bill Belichick has always placed a high priority on the offensive line, so it came as no surprise that he took the highly touted Isaiah Wynn out of Georgia. His potential may have been too tantalizing to pass up but given what’s transpired thus far, they have to be regretting their decision.

In only his second preseason game of the 2018 season, Wynn went down with a torn Achilles. With Tom Brady still under center, the team went on without him and took home the Lombardi Trophy. A nice award for a rookie to place on his mantle but an overall awful feeling knowing he played absolutely no part in it.

Year two began a bit better for Wynn. For starters, he actually got on the field. That wouldn’t last long however as a toe injury pushed him to the sidelines for several weeks. Once he fought his way back to the lineup, he was able to build a bit of momentum. This past season, he played decently when he was out there, but his career took yet another nosedive as a knee injury during the back half of the year sidelined him yet again.
It doesn’t seem fair to give a player a bad grade due to the injury bug, but life isn’t fair.
