NFL Draft: Re-grading every first round pick from the 2018 NFL Draft: Number 24 overall, WR D.J. Moore

The Carolina Panthers deserve a ton of credit for plucking what appears to be a young stud with the 24th overall pick in the 2018 draft. Wide receiver D.J. Moore wasn’t highly touted coming out of Maryland but he was an under-the-radar acquisition that’s blossomed in only three years.

Moore made the most of his opportunities in year one with just under 800 receiving yards. While those numbers would be enough for Panthers fans to count their blessings, what he’s been able to accomplish in back-to-back years has them dreaming of what he can ultimately become. Moore recorded 1,175 yards and 1,193 yards in his second and third year.

Although they were both impressive, in year three he managed to rack up those numbers while catching only 66 balls all season. Let’s also not forget that Moore hasn’t had the best of quarterbacks under center getting him the ball, in Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater and now – Sam Darnold.

It’s impossible to name some of the best young wide receivers in the league without mentioning Moore’s name. His team might be bottom feeders at the moment, but his consistent play shouldn’t be to blame.
