2021 NFL Mock Draft: Cowboys fix defense, Justin Fields slides to Broncos

11. New York Giants: Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
The New York Giants really did a solid job in free agency this year. They added a couple of weapons on the outside in Kenny Golladay and John Ross. Golladay is a player who looks ready to prove he can be a legit No. 1 wideout in the NFL. As for Ross, he was a bust for where he was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals but in New York, he comes in as an affordable pass-catcher with 4.2 speed that can change the game in a single play.
On top of that, they added tight end Kyle Rudolph who can be a red-zone weapon. If that wasn’t enough, Saquon Barkley is returning from his knee injury meaning this offense should be immensely better than the one we saw in 2020. That’s great news for Daniel Jones, who is running out of time to prove that he’s the guy.
The best part about the good offseason for New York is that they can now enter the draft without any major holes. That means they can look for the best player available and in this mock, that ends up being Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons.
A linebacker by trade, there’s really no limit to how Parsons can help this defense. He’s a heat-seeking missile in the run game but can hold his own in pass coverage as well. He’s also been used as a pass rusher on the blitz and does a tremendous job in that regard as well. Simply put, Parsons is a game-changer and should improve New York’s defense in a big way.
