21. Indianapolis Colts: Elijah Moore, WR, Ole Miss
Carson Wentz was never given the tools he needed in Philadelphia to succeed. Or at least that wasn’t the case after the 2017 season. Following their Super Bowl win, the Eagles turned things back over to Wentz but never really made sure to put elite talent around him, and then he took all the blame when the team faltered.
Yes, he does deserve some of the blame but the fact is, Wentz has shown he can get it done at the highest level. This is why the Indianapolis Colts had no problem giving up a future draft pick to reunite Wentz with Frank Reich. Now, the Colts make sure to get enough players around Wentz to keep him trending in the right direction.
They already re-signed T.Y. Hilton and Michael Pittman but they still look toward the future with the selection of Elijah Moore at No. 21. Undersized at 5-foot-9 and 185-pounds, Moore was electric in 2020 with 86 receptions for 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns in just eight games for Ole Miss. He might not look the part of a No. 1 receiver in the NFL but he would be a solid player to learn from Hilton and eventually replace him as the starter opposite Pittman.
