2021 NFL Mock Draft: Cowboys fix defense, Justin Fields slides to Broncos
By Randy Gurzi
33. Jacksonville Jaguars: Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson
Travis Etienne is a solid running back who can do it all. Jacksonville had a big season from James Robinson last year but Etienne is much more dynamic.
34. New York Jets: Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue
If Rondale Moore was a bit taller, he would be a day one pick for sure. As it stands, he ends up with the Jets early in the second in this mock.
35. Atlanta Falcons: Jayson Oweh, EDGE, Penn State
A developmental prospect with plenty of fans out there, Jayson Oweh lands with the Falcons here as a replacement for Takk McKinley who was let go during the season in 2020.
36. Miami Dolphins (via Houston Texans): Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa
Zaven Collins is an intriguing player due to his size (6-foot-4 and 260-pounds) and versatility. Brian Flores will enjoy moving him around his defense and maximizing his talent.
37. Philadelphia Eagles: Nick Bolton, LB, Missouri
Another linebacker as the Eagles bolster their defense with the selection of Nick Bolton here.
38. Cincinnati Bengals: Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame
They didn’t take a tackle in Round 1 but it works out with Liam Eichenberg still on the board at 38. He’s a plug and play starter for the Bengals.
39. Carolina Panthers: Jamin Davis, LB, Kentucky
Jamin Davis has been climbing boards at an amazing rate lately. He inches closer to the first round here.
40. Denver Broncos: Baron Browning, LB, Ohio State
Denver bolsters their defense with Baron Browning from Ohio State.
41. Detroit Lions: Kelvin Joseph, CB, Kentucky
Jeff Okudah is the real deal but the Lions could use another starter across from him. Enter Kelvin Joseph who proved at Kentucky that he can defend elite talent in the SEC.
42. New York Giants: Dillon Radunz, OT, North Dakota State
North Dakota State is a well-known small school and they send out another potential NFL starter in Dillon Radunz. The Giants offensive line has been a problem, so they start to rebuild here.
43. San Francisco 49ers: Landon Dickerson, IOL, Alabama
Landon Dickerson is a solid interior offensive lineman and the 49ers love to control the clock with the run game. He will help in that regard.
44. Dallas Cowboys: Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan
Tyron Smith is still in Dallas but no one knows if he can stay healthy. For that reason, the Cowboys take Jalen Mayfield out of Michigan at No. 44. He can end up being the left tackle of the future for them while providing insurance in 2021.
45. Jacksonville Jaguars (via Minnesota Vikings): Alex Leatherwood, OL, Alabama
Back on the clock again, the Jaguars now add Alex Leatherwood from Alabama. He can play tackle but some have him as a guard. Either way, he will improve their line.
46. New England Patriots: Jabril Cox, LB, LSU
A star at the Senior Bowl, Jabril Cox does a lot of things right. He’s the type of player who could excel for New England.
47. Los Angeles Chargers: Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami
Gregory Rousseau could fall out of the first and if he does, some team will be very happy. The Chargers are that happy team in this mock.
48. Las Vegas Raiders: Creed Humphrey, IOL, Oklahoma
They need to rebuild their line — well maybe the whole roster even. Las Vegas gets a new center here in Creed Humprhey to start reloading for another mass release in a few years.
