It would’ve been hard for the Bengals new uniforms to be worse than their old ones but, thankfully, they’re a substantial upgrade.

After taking quarterback Joe Burrow with the first pick of last year’s NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals set the foundation for a rebuild. So as they usher in a new era, it would only stand the reason that they look to part. As such, new Bengals uniforms finally became a reality on Monday.

There have been cries for new uniforms in Cincinnati for quite some time. Fans of the team and of the league at large have bemoanded the shoulder stripes on the old uniforms and several other details that just looked a bit archaic and no longer worked.

So as the new Bengals uniforms were revealed, they made sure to build some hype around them with a release video that should get everyone excited.

First off, tip of the cap to a fantastic release video for the new digs. But more importantly, look at those new uniforms; that’s a winning look as the franchise enters a new era.

So without the pomp and circumstance of the video release, here’s a look at the new Bengals uniform combos in frame:

The two details that make the new Bengals uniforms a win start with the shoulder stripes. No longer having them blocked off and just as a part of the uniform color scheme is a simple but impactful change. This new look is both cleaner and more modern, both of which are net positives for this look.

And the other detail that deserves to be noted is the full team name above the number on front. That’s a great look that more fits the modern NFL look. And all of this blends to make some fantastic color combinations that pop much better than their previous iterations.

It remains to be seen how the Bengals will continue as they build around Burrow. But their new uniforms ensure that they’ll be ushering in a new era and the future with a much better look.
