The Dallas Cowboys trade back twice in the first round in order to stockpile talent on the defensive side of the ball in this 7-round mock draft

With the 2021 NFL Draft right around the corner, we take another look at what the Dallas Cowboys could end up doing as they look to re-tool their roster.

In this mock, the Cowboys decide to stockpile picks as they trade down not just once, but twice as they load up on picks in the second and third-round.

With that said, we dive right in and see what they do after making a move with the Patriots and then the Bears.

First Trade: The Cowboys send No. 10 overall to New England Patriots for No. 15 overall and No. 46 overall in Round 2. New England is in need of a quarterback and this move allows them to land one.

Second Trade: Cowboys trade No. 15 overall to Chicago Bears for No. 20 overall, No. 83 overall (Round 3), and No. 164 overall (Round 5). Chicago needs a lot of help and this move gives them a better shot at a player to rebuild around. For Dallas, it’s not much of a drop to add two more darts.

Round 1, Pick 20: Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech

There’s not much doubt that Dallas will be eyeing a cornerback early in this class. Here, they land Caleb Farley from Virginia Tech who could end up being a Pro Bowler, as long as he proves to be healthy.

Once considered a top-15 talent, Farley had to have an operation on his back when he hurt himself working out. That’s dropped him down some boards but he’s confident that he will be ready to go by the start of the season.

If so, this would feel like a major win for the Cowboys.
