Dallas Cowboys trade back twice, stockpile defense in 7-round mock draft

Round 4, Pick 138: Sadarius Hutcherson, IOL, South Carolina
After adding Liam Eichenberg in the second, the Cowboys are much better suited to hold up on the offensive line. But that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get more depth for the interior.
With their second pick in the fourth, they grab Sadarius Hutcherson from South Carolina. The 6-4, 320-pound Hutcherson started for nearly four seasons with the Gamecocks and held his own against the best in the SEC.
Round 5, Pick 164: James Wiggins, S, Cincinnati
Jevon Holland should be a starter at free safety very soon in his career but the Cowboys need more depth. James Wiggins is added in Round 5 and he’s a player who can perform at either safety position.
An incredible athlete, Wiggins had 36 tackles and four picks in 2018 but then missed all of 2019 due to a torn ACL. He was working his way back in 2020 but could be even better in his second season since returning from the injury.
Round 5, Pick 179: Tay Gowan, CB, UCF
Another player who didn’t see the field in 2020 was Tay Gowan from UCF. He’s taken in the fifth round and is an intriguing prospect.
Standing 6-2 and 185 pounds, Gowan is a solid tackler with excellent height. He adds more depth to one of the weakest positions on the roster.
