Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 6. RB. Virginia Tech. Khalil Herbert. player. 847

Round 6, Pick 192: Khalil Herbert, RB, Virginia Tech

There’s a video going around showing Ezekiel Elliott looking more “explosive” this offseason. Of course, a similar video seems to go around every year and he continues to look less and less explosive. It feels like a matter of time before the front office admits they shouldn’t have paid a running back and moves on.

Until then, they keep adding players who can help in a committee which is exactly what they get in Khalil Herbert. Following a transfer from Kansas, Herbert blew up in 2020 with 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns. Still, he’s a bit on the older side for a running back after spending five seasons in the NCAA, so that’s why he’s available in Round 6.

Scouting Report. UAB. 6. player. Pick Analysis. WR. Austin Watkins. 2369

Round 6, Pick 227: Austin Watkins, WR, UAB

In 2019, Austin Watkins had 1,092 yards and six touchdowns for UAB. With a limited season in 2020 — playing just seven games — he added another 468 yards and three touchdowns.

Wide receiver is a stacked position in Dallas, so it will be an uphill climb to make the team but Watkins has a lot to offer.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Iowa State. TE. Dylan Soehner. 7. player. 837

Round 7, Pick 238: Dylan Soehner, TE, Iowa State

Dalton Schultz broke out in 2020 which was supposed to be the season we saw Blake Jarwin burst onto the scene. Now coming back from a torn ACL, Jarwin is hoping to regain his footing and Schultz offers a great No. 2 option.

Behind them is Jeremy Sprinkle who is known for his blocking but has a lot of experience. There’s not much need for depth at the spot but Dallas still grabs someone in the seventh as we round out this mock with Dylan Soehner from Iowa State.

Standing 6-7 and 272 pounds, Soehner is a huge prospect that started to come on in 2020 with 205 yards on 18 receptions.
