3. Atlanta Falcons trade out of the No.4 spot

Atlanta Falcons could stay at No. 4 and take the best player available, Kyle Pitts  — he’s that good. Perhaps they’d take a quarterback to groom behind Matt Ryan. While it makes sense, the Falcons have a quarterback that they can win with now.

Not that long ago Ryan helped his team to a Super Bowl. These quarterback prospects have too many question marks, and the Falcons have too many holes. They need to trade down and collect draft capital. The Falcons had a historically bad defense, one prospect won’t fix it, but it’s a start.

Collecting draft picks allows them a chance to get future first-round picks. They can package those picks to move up and take a quarterback another year. This draft is top-heavy at corner, and they need to address their safety position. Atlanta must get aggressive in the draft by doubling down on secondary picks.

More importantly, there’s value with edge rushers late day one, early day two. They weren’t able to get to the quarterback last year. Atlanta may need to double down on edge rushers as well. With so many holes and quarterback-needy teams, how could they stand pat at No. 4? But this isn’t the only NFL draft trade Atlanta should make, more on that later.
