14. Minnesota Vikings: Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina

2020 was a lost season for the Minnesota Vikings which was beyond frustrating for them. After a strong campaign in 2019, they went out and traded for Yannick Ngakoue as they hoped to make a run. Unfortunately, they lost Danielle Hunter to injury, and Ngakoue was traded away when they realized that they weren’t going to go far.

Dalvin Cook still had a strong campaign and Justin Jefferson proved to be a solid replacement for Stefon Diggs but Kirk Cousins struggled at times to get the job done. On top of that, their defense wasn’t what we were used to seeing from them. They could decide to go after some help on that side of the ball, which would surprise no one. Or, they could go for help on defense — which they do here by taking Jaycee Horn.

The initial reaction to such a pick might be confusion since they just drafted Jeff Gladney but the TCU product has some serious allegations hanging over his head.

So if the team is scared at all, they should get some insurance here with the South Carolina product. The son of former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe Horn, Jaycee knows what it takes to make it in the NFL. He also has everything you want in a cornerback.

He’s tall, lengthy, has plenty of bulk, and is also incredibly fast. His ability to mirror wide receivers is impressive and he really took a step forward this past season which solidified him as the second-best corner in the class — although he’s not too far behind Surtain.
