30. Buffalo Bills: Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson
Josh Allen really took off in 2020 and was in the mix for the NFL MVP award. He also led the Buffalo Bills to the AFC Championship Game and while they were defeated by the Chiefs, they’re trending in the right direction.
The biggest reason for their improvement came courtesy of their trade last year for Stefon Diggs. It seemed as though they were set on taking a receiver with their first pick, but instead traded that selection to Minnesota for Diggs. The Vikings landed Justin Jefferson who proved to be a steal for them, but the move for Buffalo was still fantastic.
Adding Diggs allowed them to truly see what Allen could do with a proven playmaker. And now, they decide to get him even more help with the selection of Travis Etienne at No. 30. Taking running backs in the first round is always a gamble but Etienne is an incredibly versatile weapon who can get the job done both on the ground and through the air. On top of that, the 30th pick is close to a second-round selection — and no one would blink at a running back such as Etienne going in Round 2.
Making the move here, however, means the Bills can keep him in Western New York for five seasons if they would like to.
