3-Round 2021 NFL Mock Draft: Broncos, Bears trade up for quarterbacks
By Randy Gurzi
6. Miami Dolphins (via Philadelphia Eagles): Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
The Miami Dolphins started out with the third pick and the 18th pick in this draft but then they started to make some moves. First, they dropped down from No. 3 to No. 12 in a move with the San Francisco 49ers. Apparently, they weren’t satisfied there, as they then traded with the Philadelphia Eagles to get back to No. 6.
Miami still made out like bandits with all the moves and they can still land an elite talent at No. 6. The question, however, is which way do they want to go. It feels as though a pass-catcher would make the most sense here but they do have DeVante Parker and Will Fuller — plus Albert Wilson is supposed to return as well. That could mean they look elsewhere, which leads to the selection of Kyle Pitts.
The Florida tight end is an absolute game-changer and while the Dolphins do have Mike Gesicki, it would be hard to justify passing on Pitts. On top of that, Pitts and Gesicki could work well together in a two-tight-end offense — and when you add that to Fuller, Parker, and Wilson the Dolphins would boast one of the best passing attacks in the game.
