New York Giants 2021 mock draft: Rounds 3-4

Round 3, Pick 76: Jackson Carman, OL, Clemson

Getting an offensive lineman will happen within the first three picks of the 2021 NFL Draft. Building a wall in front of Daniel Jones and giving Saquon Barkley a run-blocking guard will happen. The Giants are still searching to upgrade the interior offensive line.

Veteran interior lineman, Zach Fulton was brought in. He’ll add depth and/or complete for a starting guard position. Will Hernandez hasn’t developed into the guard fans had hoped. A swing tackle/guard prospect like Jackson Carman is ideal for the Giants.

Over the last two seasons, the former Tiger protected Trevor Lawrence’s blindside. The 6-5, 335-pound massive tackle does a solid job anchoring in pass protection. He has a strong base and locks on to his man. great job anchoring against the run. He’s shown powerful hands to go along with his massive frame. Since he struggles against speed off the edge, he’ll make for a great guard and emergency tackle.

Round 4, Pick 116: Ambry Thomas, CB, Michigan

Versatility is the name of the game when it comes to what Patrick Graham requires from his players. The draft is top-heavy at cornerback, so the G-Men will rely on depth, red-flagged prospects who fit what they like to do. They will come away with a corner, Ambry Thomas is an ideal prospect for the Giants in round four.

For starters, he has the height and length you look for in a boundary corner. The 6-1, 191-pound corner does his best work when he’s allowed to be aggressive at the line. He’s solid in zone coverage showing instincts in shallow flats. He could come in as an early starter if he’s the player he was in 2020.
