New York Giants ready Daniel Jones for push in 7-round mock draft
New York Giants 2021 mock draft: Round 6
Round 6, Pick 196: Camryn Bynum, CB, California
Adding depth with a player who has a good skill-set on their defense is something the Giants will do. We saw defensive coordinator Patrick Graham use seventh-round picks last season to generate pass rushers. Consequently, his corners are left on an island. A guy like Camryn Bynum is perfect value for the G-Men in the sixth round.
Bryum is a boundary corner with smooth athleticism ideally suited, and limited to outside corner. However, he has powerful hands and great length, ideal for a rotational corner. The 6-0, 200-pound corner could line up in sub-packages against big wideouts and flexed tight ends. He has excellent hands and he’s an instinctive technician in run support.
Round 6, Pick 201: Robert Jones, OL, Middle Tennessee State
Adding depth along the offensive line, specifically, the interior is something Gettleman must do. Jackson Carman was selected early on, he’s a swing guard tackle, but doubling down makes sense. Getting a player who can swing inside at guard or center is ideal for the Giants. The more guys they have upfront who can do multiple things the better.
Robert Jones played tackle during his days at Middle Tennessee State. He’s a mauler at the line of scrimmage with a big lower body at 6-4, 319 pounds. He lacks athleticism but makes up for it with power. He’s ideally suited for a power gap running scheme. He’d bring power into the rotation for the G-Men.
