2021 NFL Draft: One perfect prospect for all 32 teams
By Randy Gurzi
Green Bay Packers: Dyami Brown, WR, North Carolina
No team made more of a surprise move in the 2020 NFL Draft than the Green Bay Packers did. Despite having Aaron Rodgers under center — and still playing at an elite level — the Packers traded up for a quarterback.
They added Jordan Love from Utah State and while he could be the heir to Rodgers, it was still a surprising move considering they were 13-3 the season before and it felt as though they were one play-maker away from getting back to the Super Bowl.
If that wasn’t confusing enough, they then went with A.J. Dillon in Round 2 — giving them a backup quarterback in the first and a backup running back in the second. And heading into 2021, both will remain reserves as Rodgers is still there (and won the MVP in 2020) and they gave Aaron Jones a massive contract which will probably work out as well as all the other second contracts for running backs in recent years.
Clearly, there was a plan and while we might not understand it, Green Bay is consistently in the mix for the Super Bowl so it’s hard to bash them too much. Still, they would be wise to finally get a second receiver to play opposite Davante Adams and one perfect fit for them is Dyami Brown of North Carolina.
Brown is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound wideout who averaged more than 20 yards per catch over the past two seasons for the Tarheels. He’s quickly been climbing boards due to his ability to get deep and as the No. 2 option across from Adams, he would be deadly.
