New Orleans Saints: Terrace Marshall, Jr., WR, LSU

For a few years now, Michael Thomas has been on an island. The New Orleans Saints have tried to get other wideouts to pair with him but the results have never been great.

The best option over the past several seasons has been Emmanuel Sanders, the veteran who joined them in 2020 and had 726 yards and five touchdowns on 61 receptions. Those numbers are good for a second wide receiver but the problem is, he never really got to play much with Thomas who struggled with health last year.

Thomas played in seven games but missed time in a couple of them as well as he had 40 receptions for 438 yards and no touchdowns. New Orleans is hopeful that Thomas can rebound in 2021 — even though Drew Brees will be gone — but he won’t have Sanders across from him as they had to release him due to salary cap concerns.

That means it’s back to the drawing board for New Orleans as they seek a No. 2 wideout and the best fit for them would be a guy who played collegiately in the same state as them — Terrace Marshall, Jr.

The LSU product has great size at 6-3 and 200 pounds and can also stretch the defense with his speed. Last year, he took over as the top receiver with Justin Jefferson turning pro and Ja’Marr Chase opting out of the campaign. All he did was average more than 100-yards per catch and prove that he deserves to be one of the top receivers in this class.
