Pittsburgh Steelers: Najee Harris, RB, Alabama

As it stands now, the Pittsburgh Steelers running back corps is nothing to get too excited about. Their projected starter is Benny Snell, Jr. with Anthony McFarland and Kallen Ballage behind him. They do also have Jaylen Samuels although he’s listed as a fullback and had 28 yards rushing in 2020.

Their most experienced back is Ballage, who was a fourth-round pick in 2018. He has 629 career yards but has been on four teams already. Oddly enough, they also have a fourth-round pick from 2019 and 2020 with Snell joining them from Kentucky in 2019.

So far, he has turned in 426 yards as a rookie and 368 last season with six touchdowns. McFarland, their 2020 fourth-rounder from Maryland, has 113 yards to his name.

While all of them are capable of helping, none have set themselves apart as top-tier running backs — and with the struggles Ben Roethlisberger had in 2020, they need a running back who can help carry the load. Looking at this class, there’s no better fit for them than Najee Harris from Alabama.

Not only would he give them someone with a higher pedigree than the fourth round, but the 220-pound back is a bruiser who would bring back memories of the days when Pittsburgh was a dominant ground team. There’s really no player in this class that would improve their offense as much as Harris would.
