2021 NFL Draft: One perfect prospect for all 32 teams
By Randy Gurzi
Tennessee Titans: Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame
What a waste the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft ended up being for the Tennessee Titans. After losing Jack Conklin in free agency to the Cleveland Browns, the Titans took Georgia offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson at No. 29 overall.
There were some eyebrows raised when the pick was made since Wilson was seen as a talented player who could start one day, but he wasn’t a sure thing. Even so, no one expected things to go as poorly as they did.
Wilson played just one game in 2020 and then was traded away after going to social media to say he would never play for the Titans again. Wilson landed with the Miami Dolphins but was waived a few days later when he wouldn’t show up for workouts.
His departure means Tennessee is still in need of an offensive tackle and one solid fit would be Liam Eichenberg from Notre Dame. A left tackle for the Irish, Eichenberg could easily slide over to the right side — and he could be even better in that role.
Eichenberg would also be a possible day one starter given his polish. He won’t be the flashiest player but he would come in and get the job done, which is what they need.
