Washington Football Team: Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State

it’s not very often that a team is looking to defend their divisional title while also trying to bounce back from a losing season — but that’s where we are with the Washington Football Team.

A surprise team from 2020, head coach Ron Rivera led his team to a 7-9 record which was better than expected given some of their circumstances. Not only did they move on from quarterback Dwayne Haskins during the season but they also watched their head coach battle cancer.

As they fought through the adversity, they found themselves in a position to win their division despite the losing record and they pulled it off. They also gave the Tampa Bay Buccaneers all they could handle in the first round of the playoffs.

Now, they look to improve in 2021 and one way they’re looking to do so is by turning the offense over to Ryan Fitzpatrick. He’s no spring chicken but Fitzpatrick is more than capable of putting up points.

Washington also has a decent defense that can slow opponents down. They even got better on that side with the addition of William Jackson in a secondary that already has Kendall Fuller and Landon Collins.

They also have some star power on the front of their line with Chase Young, Jonathan Allen, Da’Ron Payne, and Montez Sweat. What they don’t have, is an elite linebacker.

This is why Micah Parsons would be a great fit with them. The Penn State product would give them one of the most fearsome defenses on paper in the league.

If they plan to win with Fitzpatrick and this offense, becoming a top-5 defense would go a long way in helping with that.
