Chicago Bears 2021 mock draft: Round 6, Pick 204

player. 866. Pittsburgh. Jimmy Morrissey. 6. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Offensive Center

So in this mock draft, the Chicago Bears have nine picks. The good thing is that they have five of them in the first three rounds. That increases the chances of them drafting quality contributors as starters. They don’t have any picks in the fourth or fifth rounds, something that if faced with, Pace probably does something to get into either round. I didn’t do that here.

In this mock, the Bears still have four sixth-round picks. Instead of hoping for them to turn into possible starters, Pace and company can use these picks to add depth. That’s exactly who these next players are.

Jimmy Morrisey adds more depth to the offensive line. Sam Mustipher did a great job when he finally got his chance last season. He still needs to be challenged, though. The team needs to push him to see how he reacts. Morrisey can do that.

Morrissey is a fundamentally sound center. He is strong in all areas, firing off the snap and getting to the second level quickly. In addition, he is good at quarterbacking the offensive line. He does a good job of seeing the blitz coming and making the adjustments.

Morrissey is a solid, albeit undersized, center. He takes full advantage of his tools and competes every time he’s on the field. He’ll push and challenge Mustipher to see how competitive the starter is. If he doesn’t win the battle, he can help out at guard or bide his time on the practice squad until he gets another chance.
