Chicago Bears 2021 mock draft: Round 6, Pick 221

Dan Moore. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Offensive Tackle. Texas A&M. 6. player. 873

The Chicago Bears continue to address the tackle position with the selection of Dan Moore. He was a three-year starter for the Aggies. That’s impressive considering how much great competition there is around the SEC, possibly the best conference in college football.

Moore played at left tackle but at the next level he projects on the right side. He is a fundamentally sound player, using good knee bend, and he uses good angles in pass protection. Additionally, he blocks down on opponents, stays square and anchors down on pass protection.

Moore needs to be more consistent with his hands. He sometimes gets too wide and that hurts his ability to use a proper punch. He always keeps his head in a swivel and does a good job of picking up blitzes. Also, he has good footwork and does a good job of getting to the second level.

Moore doesn’t project to be more than just a backup lineman and that’s just fine. As we’ve seen with the offensive line with the Bears when injuries hit a team needs to have good backups to step in for a while. If that doesn’t happen, the line collapses and that hurts the entire offense.
