Unfortunately, 10 wins wasn’t good enough for Brian Flores’ team to reach the playoffs in 2020. Could some more veterans aid the cause of the Miami Dolphins?

It was a club that dropped its first two contests and then ended the year with a thud via a 56-26 loss to the AFC East champion Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park. In between the Miami Dolphins won 10 of their 13 games and showed that they were a dramatically different club that began the 2019 season with seven consecutive losses. Since that winless stretch, Brian Flores’ team owns a combined 15-10 mark.

Still, a 10-6 finish this past season still had the ‘Fins on the outside looking in when it came to the postseason – a place the franchise hasn’t been since 2016. With the draft rapidly approaching (see Kyle Crabbs of Dolphins Wire), could the Dolphins still be poised to add some veteran support before or after the three-day proceedings?

Here are a few performers who could make them better.

You will recall that the team in Charlotte got an early start when it came to cutting loose veterans and this isn’t the first former member of the Panthers you will see on this list. One of those roster casualties was a defender that has enjoyed two stints with the organization. Safety Tre Boston has enjoyed stints with Carolina, Arizona and the Los Angeles Chargers.

The seven-year pro comes off a season in which he totaled a career-best 95 tackles (third on the team), to go along with one sack, three takeaways and four passes defended. Miami’s defense made big strides from 2019 and the club led the NFL with 29 takeaways (18 interceptions) and Boston adds a lot of experience.
