4. RB Rex Burkhead (New England Patriots)

The team still needs help in aiding their quarterbacks. Tua Tagovailoa made just nine starts during his rookie campaign and no longer has the luxury of relying on veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick, now a member of the Washington Football Team. The Dolphins have certainly turned to Foxborough to bolster their roster these last two offseason.

Versatile Rex Burkhead would add to a backfield that features 2020 team rushing leader Myles Gaskin and also newcomer Malcolm Brown (Rams). In four seasons with the Pats, he totaled only 1,882 scrimmage yards and 18 touchdowns in 41 regular-season contests. But he scored six touchdowns during the club’s 2018 three-game playoff run.

3. DT Kawann Short (Released by Carolina Panthers)

Although he missed the vast majority of this past season, defensive tackle Davon Godchaux was an up-and-coming player for the Miami Dolphins. The 2017 fifth-round pick from LSU started all 16 games in 2018 and 2019 and was a bright spot on a shaky defensive unit. But earlier this offseason, the four-year pro inked a deal with the rival New England Patriots.

Raekwon Davis comes off a solid rookie campaign and the team signed free agents Adam Butler (Patriots) and John Jenkins (Bears) for more depth. Veteran Kawann Short remains available but the two-time Pro Bowler has been limited to a combined five games the past two years. He totaled 32.5 sacks in his first six seasons.
