1. Green Bay Packers fans would go wild over a Julio Jones trade

Duh.

Regardless of how frustrating the fact that the Green Bay Packers have never taken a wide receiver (or running back, or tight end) in the first round of the draft since Aaron Rodgers became the starting quarterback is, that’s not what matters in their current situation. Simply put, the Packers need to get a reliable weapon to pair with Davante Adams so the passing offense can reach its full capacity.

The natural thought process for that is to get a No. 2 wide receiver who can diversify what the Packers do in the air rather than trotting out nothing but role players like Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen Lazard with Adams. And that would be great.

But it would be even more jaw-dropping to simply let Rodgers work with two bonafide No. 1 wide receivers in this offense, two of the best in the league at their position (when Jones is healthy). You’re talking about the reigning NFL MVP working with Julio Jones and Davante Adams. NFL defenses would consistently need a change of shorts after lining up against that.

Now, it should be said that the Packers aren’t in the best salary cap shape themselves. They would have to get extremely creative with restructuring contracts to take on Jones’ salary. If Green Bay could make that work, Jones would give the offense exactly what they need but do so at the highest possible level.
