In any NFL Draft, taking a look back causes a few people to scratch their heads. Oftentimes, both fans and general managers are incredulous to a certain individual being picked before the rest of the field.

It never quite made sense how Tom Brady, universally known as the goat, dropped all the way to the sixth round and 199th overall pick in 2000. It also doesn’t make sense that JaMarcus Russell heard his name called before anyone else’s once upon a time.

When we take a look at the 2017 NFL Draft, we notice a few perplexing picks. In the moment, no one thought much of it. In fact, many agreed with the selection of certain players, only to go back and realize they were terribly wrong. Well, in life, everyone deserves a second chance and now, we’ll be giving every team in the first round the opportunity to write a few wrongs as we re-draft the 2017 NFL Draft.

Now, we must let you guys in on a bit of a disclaimer. While the draft is often about taking the best available player, the ultimate success of the team and the individual is predicated on the situation. In some cases, the talent was simply too hard to pass up on but for the most part, we organized our list based off need. For as great as Deshaun Watson is, would it really make sense if let’s say, the Los Angeles Chargers drafted him with Justin Herbert now under center? Of course not. That went into our thinking here. Talent is great but positional need and fit trumps all else.

Now that we’ve made that clear, let’s jump into the thick of things.
