NFL Draft: Re-drafting every first-round pick from 2017 NFL Draft: 9, CB Tre’Davious White

Originally selected 27th overall (+18)

The Bengals needed just about everything heading into the 2017 NFL Draft. And truth be told, they still do. When they originally selected wide receiver John Ross, they picked up a player who was a combine monster. Ross set the record for the fastest 40 time with 4.22 seconds and saw his stock climb way up the board.

Unfortunately for the Bengals, they quickly realized that being a beast at the combine doesn’t exactly equate to being a great player on the actual field. Ross struggled with injuries during his time there and had issues dealing with the physicality of the league. One player, however, who didn’t have such issues, was cornerback Tre’Davious White.

The former All-American out of LSU is already considered one of if not, the very best at his position already. He was named the number one cornerback by head coach Sean McDermott in his rookie season and quickly showed why. He picked off opposing QBs four times in his first season and 15 times total in four years.

White is already a two-time Pro Bowler and has an All-Pro nod to his name as well. With a pathetic defense down in Carolina, White would’ve done wonders for that group.
