Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Rashawn Slater. player. IOL. TCU. 13. 13

The Chargers have to be counting their lucky stars that Rashawn Slater falls here. I’m not so sure he’ll be here, I just couldn’t be confident enough in slotting him earlier. Again, maybe the Panthers pull the trigger at No. 8.

If they don’t, then perhaps he slides a bit despite reports he’s the No. 1 lineman on some team’s boards. There’s been a whole bunch of chatter that Los Angeles could trade up for Penei Sewell or the defender of their choice. While I wouldn’t put it past them for making that move, there’s no need for me to make that happen in this mock draft.

Slater’s ability to play anywhere along the offensive line has to have Brandon Staley drooling. The name of the game should be “Help Justin Herbert.” I can get on board with a wide receiver pick here, although I’m dubious Tom Telesco would do it.

This could also be Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah’s ceiling, who could go anywhere from here to the end of the first round.

Alternative picks: Christian Darrisaw, Alijah-Vera Tucker, trade up
