2021 NFL Mock Draft: Bears trade into top 10 in Cohen’s final prediction
By Zach Cohen
This has been a popular pick for some time, so I think I’ll stick with it. I can’t really see them doing anything too crazy, although a trade down is always in the cards with Rick Spielman. In fact, I can see them swapping with a quarterback-needy team like Washington or Chicago if one falls.
That didn’t happen in this mock draft because I had New England move up. I say nothing crazy could happen then proceeds to explain something crazy that could happen. Minnesota seems to love drafting cornerbacks, so maybe Jaycee Horn is the pick.
I’d be more convinced it’s Christian Darrisaw, though. As I type this, the Vikings’ starting left tackle is Rashod Hill. If you don’t know who that is, I don’t blame you. Now that I think about it, maybe Darrisaw will be the pick. I’m teetering on this one.
Perhaps Spielman takes his first first-round edge rusher in his nine-year Minnesota career? Kwity Paye wouldn’t be a shock, here. I think Jaelan Phillips’ medical history may push him down some team’s boards, though adding him to that Vikings’ defense would be intriguing.
This may be a mundane projection, but it’s a legitimate one.
Alternative picks: Christian Darrisaw, Kwity Paye, trade down
