2021 NFL Mock Draft: Bears trade into top 10 in Cohen’s final prediction
By Zach Cohen
I don’t buy the smoke the Dolphins will take a running back here. It just doesn’t seem to fit their philosophy. While a trade is certainly possible, an edge rusher also could be in the cards. I can see them going offensive line too, though I’d be a bit surprised. Of course, this all depends on what Miami does with their first pick, which is Jaylen Waddle in this mock.
Some teams have Phillips — who transferred from UCLA to Miami in 2019 — as the best edge rusher in this class, let alone the best defender in the class. I don’t know if that’s the Dolphins, and maybe I’m just riding the consensus pick here.
I just don’t know what else they do. Kwity Paye is a fanastic option if he’s still here, keyword being “if”. Azeez Ojulari reportedly is scaring teams due to a knee issue. I don’t know how high Miami prioritizes adding a new safety, such as Trevon Moehrig.
Same with Alijah Vera-Tucker or Micah Parsons. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is a personal favorite pick of mine, but I have no information about whether the team likes him. So I’ll be boring again by keeping Phillips in Miami.
Alternative picks: Kwity Paye, Zaven Collins, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Micah Parsons
