The Dallas Cowboys take Jaycee Horn from South Carolina and Jevon Holland from Oregon in this 7-round 2021 NFL Mock Draft

a 6-10 record is not what the Dallas Cowboys expected to have in 2020, but that’s what happened during Mike McCarthy’s first campaign as their head coach. Of course, it didn’t help that Dak Prescott suffered a broken ankle, but even before he went down, this team was a mess.

Their offense had the ability to put up 40 points in the blink of an eye but they also had real problems holding onto the ball. Their turnovers were especially worrisome considering the fact that their defense was one of the worst in their existence.

Simply put, even with Prescott, this team wasn’t scaring anyone. The good news, however, is they’re picking near the top of the 2021 NFL Draft and can begin to rebuild their roster.

That’s exactly what we try and do here with this final seven-round 2021 NFL Mock Draft.

Round 1, Pick 10: Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina

The Dallas Cowboys let Byron Jones walk in 2020 and it was the right decision. Fans don’t want to hear that because they love Jones and made up their minds before he left that it was a grave mistake. However, in his first season with the Miami Dolphins, he was named the worst starting cornerback in the NFL.

In Dallas, no one noticed his flaws since the talent around him was so bad. But in Miami, he was tested and failed more often. Still, many won’t admit it was the right move and the fact that the Cowboys secondary is still so weak doesn’t help them move on.

For that reason, we use the No. 10 overall pick on Jaycee Horn from South Carolina. Horn and Patrick Surtain are neck and neck for the first corner to come off the board and Horn’s insane confidence ‚— which included him saying he’s better than Surtain — helps put him over the top.

Either way, the Cowboys need a new No. 1 cornerback and they can’t go wrong with either choice. Horn just seems to have the edge this secondary desperately needs.
