Round 4, Pick 115: Dayo Odeyingbo, EDGE, Vanderbilt

With Aldon Smith leaving, it seems as though the Dallas Cowboys are thin at defensive end. But that might not be the case when you look at their roster.

Right now, the starters are DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory, which isn’t bad at all. Behind them are Dorrance Armstrong, and Bradlee Anae. There’s hope that Anae could be a solid pro and Armstrong has been better than he gets credit for.

Having said that, they’re not incredibly deep and one of those players (Anae) is still an incredible unknown. With that being said, Dallas needs to add some help — and a player to groom — which they land with Dayo Odeyingbo from Vanderbilt.

Odeyingbo had his best season in 2020, recording 32 tackles and 5.5 sacks in eight games. He’s still raw but at 6-6 and 265 pounds, he’s an imposing figure who could be a force with the right team. For the Cowboys, he would be in a great spot since he wouldn’t be forced into action right away and could take his time perfecting his craft.

LB. 4. player. Pick Analysis. Alabama. Dylan Moses. 829. Scouting Report

Round 4, Pick 138 (Comp Pick): Dylan Moses, LB, Alabama

Sean Lee just retired and there are still major questions about Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith. Vander Esch, who was great as a rookie in 2018, hasn’t done enough since then for the team to pick up his fifth-year option and has struggled with health.

Smith has also struggled and while he tried to blame some of that on their scheme change last season, he wasn’t much better in 2019. This means Dallas needs depth and someone to test those two — and they land that with Dylan Moses in the fourth.

The Alabama linebacker has fallen down draft boards as of late but his floor still is pretty high at the next level. He makes the right reads and doesn’t miss a lot of tackles — which would be a huge change in Big D.
