Round 5, Pick 179: Tommy Kraemer, IOL, Notre Dame

Yes, the interior of the Dallas offensive line was in better shape in 2020 as far as health goes, but that doesn’t mean they can ignore the inside this season. They’re set to go with Tyler Biadasz at center this season but the second-year pro did have some injuries during his rookie campaign.

Connor Williams was the only guy to start all 16 games but the left guard missed five the season prior and three as a rookie. At right guard, they have Zack Martin who is one of the best (if not the best) in the league and he actually missed six games which was just the second time in his career he missed time.

As for their reserves, Connor McGovern is their best option and he can play center and guard. They could still bring back Joe Looney but it seems they want to get younger, so they use their fifth-round pick on Tommy Kraemer to do just that.

Listed at 6-6 and 319 pounds, Kraemer looks the part but isn’t getting a lot of love in the draft. He could still develop into a decent backup guard which is all they need from him.

Round 6, Pick 192: Jaelon Darden, WR, North Texas

On offense, the Cowboys are loaded with wide receivers. Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and CeeDee Lamb are the big-name stars but they also have Cedrick Wilson and Noah Brown who both bring a lot of positives to the table.

What they don’t have is that undersized slot receiver who can eat up chunks of yards after the catch. That’s what they get in Jaelon Darden from North Texas who is 5-9 and 170 pounds but can line up everywhere — including in the backfield — and make things happen. He could also be a weapon in the return game, making this a pretty fun pick.
