Final 2021 NFL Mock Draft: Bills take the big risk at No. 30
30. Buffalo Bills: Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
There are some people who believe that Caleb Farley is going to fall out of the first round. And it’s not hard to see why teams are scared of the Virginia Tech cornerback. With two back surgeries already and some murmurs that he’s recovering poorly from the second, this is a severe injury red flag that has to be noted.
Now that we’re coming to the conclusion of the first 32 picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, however, there is going to reach a point where the talent of Farley is just too enticing to pass up and, thus, becomes a risk a team is willing to take. That’s especially true for teams that are picking here because they’re already in a position to contend.
So with the Buffalo Bills coming on the clock, they’re the ones that ultimately take Farley and the upside is tremendous. They’ve needed a long-term running mate for Tre’Davious White and Farley has all the tools when healthy to be as good or better than White. Throw in the fact that there aren’t really any edge rushers I’m sure about at this spot and this is a gamble the Bills should be rolling the dice on.
Who I Would Pick: Caleb Farley
