Final 2021 NFL Mock Draft: Falcons stay at No. 4

4. Atlanta Falcons: Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

The general consensus seems to be that the Atlanta Falcons would love to be able to trade out of the No. 4 overall pick. In fact, reports have indicated that the franchise has been receiving calls but hasn’t gotten one that they like. To me, though, that actually reads like new general manager Terry Fontenot wants to be getting calls and hasn’t.

At the end of the day, I don’t think anyone is going to come calling for the Falcons to make a trade, even teams that are in need of a quarterback. The Bengals and Dolphins are likely staying put at their spots, so who would any of these teams be jumping ahead of to make that trade? Nobody.

Subsequently, the Falcons stay here reluctantly but fans should be happy with the addition of Kyle Pitts. The Florida tight end is the absolute definition of a matchup nightmare as his combination of size, athleticism and speed, in addition to his polish as a pass-catcher, makes him an instant X-factor on the offense.

My guess is that Atlanta also finalizes the framework for a Juilo Jones trade at some point during the draft, even if it can’t be made official until after June 1. Adding Pitts will soften that blow as they switch out an aging superstar for a potential superstar.

Who I Would Pick: Kyle Pitts
