Final 2021 NFL Mock Draft: Dolphins make first of two picks at No. 6

6. Miami Dolphins (via PHI): Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

You know which team would love for the Falcons or Bengals to take Penei Sewell? The Miami Dolphins. All reports have indicated that the Dolphins would love to see Kyle Pitts fall to them. That’s almost surely not going to happen.

In the wake of trading veteran Ereck Flowers and moving 2020 second-rounder Robert Hunt to guard prior to the draft, there was some buzz that Miami could now be in the market for Sewell. That’s the pick I would make to fortify that offensive line in front of Tua Tagovailoa with a young, strong corps of offensive linemen.

However, the Dolphins feel like they’re enamored with the idea of taking an offensive weapon with this No. 6 pick and that’s going to be Jaylen Waddle. Taking a wide receiver here, though, is better than the Bengals doing the same right before them. Waddle is a perfect fit amid the big trees Miami has on offense as the Alabama product provides a speedy deep threat they’re lacking.

Waddle is a good pick; I just can’t escape the feeling that Sewell would be a better pick for the Dolphins as their rebuild continues.

Who I Would Pick: Penei Sewell
