Antwaun Woods has been a pretty underrated nose tackle for the Dallas Cowboys since joining the team in 2018. A former undrafted free agent from USC, he was with the Tennessee Titans early on but over the past three seasons, he has played in 39 games with 32 starts.

In that time, Woods has recorded 80 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and recovered two fumbles. He even just signed a new one-year contract, keeping him in Big D for the 2021 season.

Even with that new deal, he’s a player they have tried to replace in the past. Just this past season, the Cowboys signed Dontari Poe in free agency and he started the first seven games of the year. When Poe was released and Woods moved back into the starting lineup, the defense looked much better, but they still could be looking to upgrade.

The problem is, nose tackle is an often overlooked position and with many other needs, the front office could wait to address the spot. That might not be the worst idea since other teams seem to have a similar approach to the nose tackle and that means a player such as Jordon Scott could be around until late in day three.

Scott is listed at 6-foot-1 and 322-pounds, putting him on the shorter side for a nose tackle. Having said that, he’s nearly the exact same size as Woods, coming in at the same height and four pounds heavier.

The point being, he’s got plenty of power and can make it in the NFL even if some want to say he’s not the right size. And for Dallas, he could be a great player to rotate with Woods and has the potential to start down the road.
